Prime Video has unveiled the first look at season four of the sci-fi comedy series “Upload,” set to premiere on Aug. 25. The fourth season will consist of four episodes premiering exclusively on Prime Video.
“Upload” follows a society of humans in 2033, where they can choose to upload themselves into a virtual reality afterlife of their choosing. After computer programmer Nathan Brown (Robbie Amell) unexpectedly passes away, he is uploaded to Lakeview, where he finds himself living with his girlfriend Ingrid (Allegra Edwards) who is still alive. When Nathan begins to fall for his living customer service rep Nora (Andy Allo), Nathan finds himself questioning everything he knew about his death.
Season 4 of “Upload” will follow as “sentient AI rapidly turns evil, threatening to wipe out Lakeview and the world. On top of greedy executives, lingering mysteries, plus heartbreak in VR and IRL, our characters are tested like never before. The only way they can get through it all and save humanity from deletion is by teaming up one last time.”
“Upload” also stars Kevin Bigley, Zainab Johnson and Owen Daniels. The series was created by Greg Daniels, who also serves as executive producer along with Howard Klein and Maxwell Vivian.

Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for its new animated comedy series, “Long Story Short,” which will premiere on the streaming service Aug. 22.
From “BoJack Horseman” creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg, “Long Story Short” bounces through time to share the story of the Schwooper siblings from childhood through adulthood. The trailer presents the siblings as a bickering and motley trio who are no less rambunctious and adversarial as adults than they were as children.
While “Long Story Short’s” trailer promises laughs, “BoJack Horseman” set a precedent for Raphael Bob-Waksberg striking a heartfelt balance between comedy and drama. Because some of the most daring episodes of “BoJack” dealt with family, it will be intriguing to see how “Long Story Short” builds an entire series around the concept.
The series stars Max Greenfield, Angelique Cabral, Nicole Byer, Dave Franco, and Michaela Dietz.

PROGRAMMING
ESPN has announced that its new four-episode original series “Running with the Wolves” will premiere on July 29 on ESPN and ESPN+.
“Running with the Wolves” will follow Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa’s journey as they “dive into the high-stakes world of Italian football—not as spectators, but as team owners.” The series will focus on Consuelos and Ripa’s team Campobasso FC, a Serie C soccer club in southern Italy, where the “margin for error is slim as they teeter from a playoff team to facing relegation.”
“”Running with the Wolves” is a soccer story rooted in heart, determination, and never giving up,” said Consuelos and Ripa. “Campobasso FC represents the underdog that lives in all of us. Building the Campobasso FC project from the ground-up has been one of the wildest and most rewarding adventures we’ve ever taken on, and we can’t wait for new and longtime fans to join us for this ride. We are just getting started!”
The series is produced by Left/Right and Milojo in partnership with ESPN.

AMC Networks has announced a partnership with Tubi to premiere “Demascus,” a new six episode half-hour comedy sci-fi series from Tearrance Arvelle Chisholm. The series stars Okieriete Onaodowan and Janet Hubert. The series will premiere exclusively on Tubi starting Thursday, Aug. 7th.
The series follows Demascus (Onaodowan), a 33-year old black man who begins on a journey to self-discovery as he begins to use “experimental reality-bending” technology.
Additional cast members for “Demascus” include Caleb Eberhardt (“Judas and the Black Messiah, “The Post”) Shakira Ja’nai Paye (“Single Drunk Female,” “black-ish”) and Martin Lawrence (“Bad Boys.”)
After “Demascus was previously shelved in 2023 as a result of cost cutting throughout AMC Networks, the series had previously finished production in 2022. In AMC’s SEC filing released in 2023, the prospects of “Demascus” being filed to a new platform seemed possible, with the company saying that the shelved series “may realize some future licensing and other revenue associated with some of the owned titles.”
“Through his titular character Demascus, Tearrance Chisholm asks one of life’s simplest questions: What does it take to be a good man? And he answers it with some of the most surprising and nuanced revelations one could expect,” reveals executive producer, Mark Johnson. “We thank AMC Studios for sharing our belief in this seriocomic series and Tubi for its steadfast conviction that it belongs on the air.”
“We’re excited to introduce audiences to “Demascus”—a bold, genre-bending blend of comedy and sci-fi that challenges conventions as much as it entertains,” said Samuel Harowitz, SVP of Content Acquisition and Partnerships at Tubi. “At Tubi, we champion stories that surprise, provoke, delight and resonate deeply with engaged fandoms, and “Demascus” is exactly the kind of original storytelling we’re proud to spotlight.”
Kirk A. Moore (“American Crime,” “For Life”) and Chisholm serve as the series showrunners. “Demascus” is executive produced by Mark Johnson (“Breaking Bad,” “Better Call Saul”) and Myki Bajaj of Gran Via Productions.

World of Wonder (WOW), the production company best known for content involving drag, has acquired licensing rights to the classic BBC sitcom, “Absolutely Fabulous.”
The show, which originally aired in 1992 and ran for six seasons on the BBC, follows the misbehaviors of two middle aged women: Patsy Stone and Eddy Monsoon. Joanna Lumley and Jennifer Saunders played the two leads, respectively, breaking ground as female characters leading a show with outrageous, politically incorrect humor.
WOW’s acquisition of “Absolutely Fabulous” coincides with the company’s acquisition of the BBC documentary, “Elton John: Uncensored.” The doc spans an exclusive, 90-minute interview that the eponymous singer gave to Graham Norton in 2019, during which he opens up about his childhood, his struggles with addiction, and his life of fame.
Both programs are now available to stream on World of Wonder’s streaming service, WOW Presents Plus, adding to the company’s vast library of LGBTQ+-facing films and shows. In a press release, WOW co-founders Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato state, “Patsy, Eddy and Sir Elton are already inspirations and beloved icons in the drag race universe. These shows spread the kind of light laughter and sheer joy we really need right now.”
